taerix. i like your site and your blogs. although i am a diehard protoss player and would like more protoss tips. i feel protoss is by far the weakest race right now. at gsl it was obvious that terran was the strongest and most represented race there. can you throw us toss guys a bone and give us some tips please ?

Hello again, same Jonathan from last time. Btw, my gamertag is GreenDmeaN. I thought that would be a cool gamertag to do. . anyways, alltho he has won all of my games for me. hehehe, if that says something right there. My simplest mistakes has costs me to loose the game that i really should of won. One is back-up armies..another is back-up defense(like with this void ray rush).. and another is just expanding more sooner. And so i was also thinking that if you build-up fast enough to start build vulkery & air-crafts. Wouldn't this have an affect on void rays? Like say you build 1 normal size army of just vulkery & you keep them behind you rushing your protoss. Does this sound affective? Affective enough to win against protoss.

Hi, my big brother needed some tips. And so he decided to come here, assuming because he has played on my SC2 & has lost to a void ray rush a couple times. I just got done reading about this. And i had an idea to protect your base from this atttack. Why not, bunker up near ur command center and missle turret around the back side of your mineral & gas. Because they could come from behing you & start attacking where ur minerals & gas are. So i subjest to place Missile turrets around the back side of your minerals & gas. Plus do 5 bunkers near or around ur command center. At this point, you need to upgrade structural armor & marine armor & weapons to the tops. I think this stragedgy works likes charms.

Well 3 supply depots work it would probably be better if you could go 2depot 1 rax wall off and then about 6 marines with scvs can hold off some early zealots or even a few stalkers. Throw in a bunker if you feel like your getting beat too much up front.

Btw this isnt necessarily cannon rush but watch out for a crafty toss player who puts a pylon outside of your base and will use his probe as vision to warp in units right under your nose

This is a strategy you can use, but the problem you'll run into is if your opponent doesn't go for a cannon rush, but a quick Stalker or Zealot. Since you used so many minerals building your supply depots you won't have a Barracks and Marines out to defend early enough.

But...until you start running into that more, I'd say go with it.

I simply start my game building 3 s/ds at my ramp with 2 suvs. This renders cannon rush impossible and keeps him in the dark.

Does anyone see any flaws in that? Because its been working for me.

Minimal eco loss compared to the headache of chasing that little fucking probe around.

is there a method to graviton beam multiple units?
For example I have 10 phoenixes and my opponent has 10 marines, is there a way to make phoenixes graviton beam all marines without clicking one by one?

So, I am not a well versed player in the game. However, I know some builds and what not. I am just wondering when you build marines, scv’s, hellions? Or do you just always queue one of each up? I know it may be kind of a noob question but any help is appreciated. Thanks

So, I am not a well versed player in the game. However, I know some builds and what not. I am just wondering when you build marines, scv's, hellions? Or do you just always queue one of each up? I know it may be kind of a noob question but any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hey I got a question.

You said that I should constantly produce workers. What if my main base is empty (no minerals left) should I produce workers on my main base and send them to my expansions? Or should I stop producing workers on my main base and just continue producing workers on my expansions?

This strategy is extremely effective if done right. Especially the "endless nuke" strategy. Even with cannons, you can usually find a way to slip in past detection. I also like to focus a couple nukes on taking out his robo if he starts to build one. However, this strategy does require an extremely high apm. I often lose my macro if I do this nuking for too long. But all in all its just plain fun. There's nothing like seeing one nuke hit an entire protoss/ zerg army and completely just decimate it.

The only problem I see in your article is the part where you send another SCV to scout the Terran's base. Most Terrans wall off their entry point today, which would most likely have finished at the time a Starport + Tech Lab has been built. Also, if the opponent Terran is smart enough he would have hidden the Starport away from the normal scan pattern (above the mineral lines or near the entry point). Maybe you could send a Viking to scout his entire base, but then you've wasted money on a Factory + Starport.

I often play the game for fun and for GLORY!!! But in order to achieve glory I usually try cockamainy schemes and strategies like all ravens, or dropshipping 6 thors into someones base and immediately 250mm-ing all nearby buildings, or all infestors and fight with just infested terran, or mass zerglings with multiple nydus's popping up and screaming every 30 seconds (oh the chaos!) So when I win with an unusual strategy it feels all the more glorious and fun! Because seriously, MMM is tried and true, but where is the thrill in that after you've just won 10 games in a row with a 'textbook' strategy? Granted, when I use my offbeat strategy I lose like 3 or 4 outta every 5 games, and my teammates get a bit frustrated, but hey, its fun. And the more I try this crazy isht, the better I get, and every once in a while one of the schemes is recalled midgame with me thinking "you know what just might work right now that they would never not in a million years expect?" and then bam, stalemate ended. SC2 for life! ... until they come out with SC3 that is ;)

I'm totally guilty of "stressing out" in multiplayer matches, as you pointed out in #2. I never knew I cared so much about my ranking! Amirite?

That's a very cool strategy. I've been looking for ways to play Terran that don't involve walling in and setting up siege tanks.

I love playing with hellions too, although they do require a lot of attention to make them most effective.
