The Terran Thor is the human’s newest and biggest war machine yet. It is a walking fortress, armed with three different weapons systems: Javelin missile launcher to take out flying enemies; two giant cannons dubbed the “Thor’s Hammer” to dispatch ground forces, and an artillery battery mounted on it’s back to dismantle heavily armored ground targets. These massive war machine’s can be built from the ground up in a standard Factory relatively quickly, making them a feared component of any Terran army.

Terran Thor Abilities

The Terran Thor is a massive unit employed by the Terrans in special situations. They are especially good at leading a charge because of their high hit points and armor. In most cases, massing them isn’t very effective, but they make an excellent support unit to Marines, Tanks, and other more fragile units.
Thor’s have 2 main weapons, one for ground and one for air. The air attack is a missile launcher that shoots a volley of four rockets that do splash damage in a small area around the target they hit. This makes Thor’s very effective against any air units that clump up together, especially light units like Banshees, Mutalisks, and Phoenix.
Their second attack targets only ground forces, hitting twice per shot and hitting very hard. It has a slight delay before firing, making Thor’s pretty bad against large numbers of smaller ground units that swarm in.
The Thor’s special ability must be researched at a Factory’s Tech Lab. It allows the Thor to bombard a single unit with massive damage (500 total) over 6 seconds. 250mm Strike Cannons also stun the targeted unit for the duration of the attack. It takes 2 seconds for the Thor to brace itself, and 2 seconds to return to it’s mobile state, so activating this ability will render your Thor immobile for 10 seconds.
